Q3: Analysis of Survey monkey questionnaire and Hand out questionnaire.

Target audience age - By combining the results from both of the questionnaires it was apparent to me that the majority of my target audience ages ranged from 18-35. When I received this information I was very happy because these are the ages that my music video was targeted at.

Prominent conventions in my music video - The top two conventions that was highlighted within my results was Lighting and Editing.

The lighting aspect to the music video allowed us to use different types of lighting such as key lighting, background lighting and filler lighting in - order to enhance key body features. This is because we was trying to extenuate these particular features in order to portray the convention of Love and Lust.

The editing aspect to the music video we used cuts, transitions and on beat editing in - order to keep the viewer interested. An scientific study proved viewers' lose interest if they look at a clip that shows the same image for a long duration of time. So to prevent these we used a variety of editing techniques such as colour grading to prevent the audience from being distracted.

How Truffle was portrayed in the music video - The top answer for this question was Fiery & Feisty. The reason for this is because of the colours that was in the music video. Red and orange portrayed the artist to have a very unpredictable temperament. Also whilst lip syncing a dancing in the video Truffle danced and sung with an attitude that impacted on how the audiences viewed the character.

Best and Worst features in my music video - Viewers had mixed opinions in this category due to the audience having different views on body parts. However, Lips was voted the favourite body part. Lips was an often seen in the video whether it was because of lip syncing or because the shape of the persons mouth was appealing to the eyes. This could possibly be a reason why viewers found it the most appealing feature. On the other hand, Hair was deemed to be the worst feature due to it not having much relevance to the songs lyrics and what was occurring in the video.

70's theme - Majority of viewers thought that my music video had aspects of the 70's. Personally I was pleased to see that viewers thought that there was evidence of this decade due to myself and my partner being inspired by this decade. This is evident in our music video by the colours and the props that we used.

These are the results of the questionnaires that I  handed out.

Method:

  • I photocopied 20 questionnaires 
  • Handed out the questionnaires to 10 males & 10 females. 
  • They completed the questionnaire 
  • They then gave the questionnaires back to me.

This is an image of a hand written survey that mirrors the questions on survey monkey. Due to some of my target audience not having access to survey monkey I chose to hand out copies of the questionnaire. Doing so made my results more valid results due to having a higher quantity of responses.

Q2: Free poster


My fans will receive a large poster that features me in Egypt. This is to complete my magazine advert cover. The reason why I created this poster is because Truffle is a new artist and needs all the publicity possible. This means that fans and potential would recognise her and her talent. 



Final Digipak



This is my final Digipak that my fans will receive when they purchase my album.

Creating my Magazine ad.

 Step 1: First, I added my photo to Photoshop CS6.
Step 2: I began to add text and effects, in this layer i used the Bevel & Emboss. I also used the Stroke tool in order to emphasise my text. 
Step 3: I then added more text to the photo and this time I used the Bevel & Emboss, Stroke and Drop  shadow tool. 

Step 4: Finally, I added where tour dates are available from.

Reflecting on Lip Sync.

Throughout the duration of my A-level course we didn't have a lesson on how to lip sync. However, I conducted some research of my own by looking at various Youtube videos on how to lip sync. By researching lip syncing it highlighted to me that you have to know the words to the song to make sure you have the correct pace. Because when it is time to edit the lyrics the timing will be off.

Production Improvements..

There is several improvements that i feel could've been addressed during the filming, such as:
  • More locations choices in order to add more variety.
  • Variety of different shot angles.
  • The measurements should have been more consistent throughout.
  • Shot of Myself and Rayanne singing the song together. 
  • Moving shots of actors singing and playing the song. 
  • Shots we used could be matched the shots made in the earlier.

Snapchat Video.





This is a video of Truffle thanking her fans and friends for supporting her throughout her career.

Snapchat


Throughout the duration of my media project I have used a new application called Snapchat. Snapchat involves creating videos or taking photos that can last up to a maximum to 10 seconds for your friends to view. In order to become someones friend you have to add the person either my their mobile number or their Snapchat name that they have chosen.

This was a useful social networking site because it allowed fans to see what Truffle part takes in on a daily basis. It also made me aware of the type of fan base that Truffle appeals to. I could also talk to fans via texting on snapchat which was interesting to hear their feedback of my music video.

The magazine also has lyrics to the song "Hot stuff" inside. This is to make the audience familiar with the latest song by Truffle and Coco.










 The back cover of the magazine is going to be blank because that space is usually reserved for advertisements.

Digipak mock up - Back cover



This is the Digipak back cover, i have chosen roses to be at 2 corners because they symbolise love. I have also chosen lips to be in the middle of the back cover because that is the body part that is shown in the music video. The butterfly resting on the lips symbolises a significant other.

This is the Front cover of my Digipak mock up. I have chosen to use the colours red, orange and yellow because they symbolise Lust and Love. I have chosen a black background to make these colours stand out. I have chosen the image to be of a mouth because lips are one of the main parts of the body that is displayed in our music video.

This is the mock up version  of my Digipak. I have played around with different styles and have created the inside cover. I like the diversity of the pictures of myself, this gives the target audience an understanding of Truffles lifestyles. This would enable me to me relatable to my  fans/ target audience.

Digipak Do's and Don'ts


Things that are essential in my Digipak are:
  • Clear and appropriate fonts.
  • Ensure genre conventions and 70's styles are followed throughout the Digipak.
  • Appropriately focused and shaped images.
  • Make sure the colour scheme  in my music video and Digipak are the same

Things i should avoid in my music video are:

  • Effects that are not related to my genre.
  • Stretched images.
  • Layer styles.
  • Fonts that are hard to read or colours that contrast each other.

Lovebox Promotional poster



This is the line up for a popular Festival that occurs in England. Truffle is on both of the days heading  lining amongst Rudimental and Snoop Dogg. I decided to create this poster in a media lesson. The colours of the poster complement the themes and conventions in Myself and Rayanne's music video. This is an event that occurs in a large park, the colours and layout help to appeal to our target audience. This is due to them being vibrant and bright that conveys the type of personality that my target audience has. The colours shows that this is a summer event which most festivals take place due to the hot weather.

Rough cut comments

I picked 6 people to assess my rough cut.I asked each person to tell me the main aspect that could be changed in order to make our music video great. These are the comments that I received.

Comment 1: On beat editing rarely takes place in your music video.

Solution to the problem: I am going to add more cuts and transitions on beat in order to grab the audiences attention in order to attract their attention.

Comment 2: The start of the music video hasn't irrelevant music playing.

Solution to the problem: I am going to extend the music or maybe add a scene that complements the lyrics of the song.

Comment 3: Some of the lip syncing isn't in sync with the song.

Solution to the problem: I plan to edit the lip syncing in order to make sure that it is in sync with the music.

Comment 4: Most of the shots are too long.

Solution to the problem:  This could result in the audience loosing interest in the music video. In order to prevent this i am going to shorten the shots. However, I'm not going to make them too short that prevents the audience from looking at them.

Comment 5: There isn't a variety of locations.

Reason why there isn't a variety of locations is because we plan to add effects and filming in different locations may hinder us from adding these effects to the music video.

Comment 6: Some of the clips are slotted in random places.

Reason: This is because we wanted to have an idea of where these shots fit into our music video.

Solution: Myself and Rayanne is going to discuss where each clip belongs when we do our final editing and fit each shot accordingly.

Pinterest Into and makeup / hair ideas.

Throughout the duration of my A2 media course i have used a web and mobile application known as Pinterest. Pinterest has aided me to be creative, by finding idea that I like on other users boards and expanding on the idea and making it my own. I have pinned ideas that i have found innovative that have been uploaded by other users to my Pinterest board. I have found Pinterest useful because the registration process was quick and easy. When you have become a  member you are able to use other applications such as Facebook and upload your board for you friends on Facebook to view.
